A White Negroni.

My thoughts

This was actually my first introduction to a White Negroni. While the added ingredients make it less “classic” (it’s already a riff, to be fair), it creates a more complex flavor profile than a typical White Negroni. The use of lychee liqueur brings a sweetness that wouldn’t normally be present. And the bergamot/shiso add a punch of citrus and freshness.

While I’ve since had a traditional White Negroni and do prefer its bitter nature, this is still a great drink on its own.

Served tableside for two in a globe.

My thoughts

This drink brings back a whole memory, and a hilarious one at that. My roommate’s girlfriend’s cousin was in town with his friends (Hi Gabi). We ended up at the Wynn, so popped into Aft for a drink. Mind you, many drinks had been consumed prior to this story.

One of the guys orders this ridiculous $60 drink for two, but he had won some money from blackjack earlier, so no one really said much. Where I start to laugh is that by the time the waitress brought the drink to the table, he had passed out due to a combination of alcohol and jet lag. We simply couldn’t wake him, even after shaking him.

They almost kicked us out because they thought he was too drunk, but we just told them he was super tired. So, as a result, we all got to have his drink and still made him pay hahaha. I would have never gotten to try this without a crazy chain of events.

The drink is a rum Old Fashioned infused with wood smoke in the globe. A tasty little treat, but probably not worth the price tag. Unless you want the show, which is what Las Vegas is about at the end of the day.

The Space

This bar would scream Vegas, even if a blind person walked in. Located inside the Wynn, situated outside overlooking a man-made lake that plays a music and light show. I’ve seen a giant frog head peer over the screen, all the way to a full Marshmello DJ set (he wasn’t there :/).

Sure, it may be slightly gimmicky, but I’ve never had a bad drink there. I would venture to say that a place like this might be slightly polarizing, however. If you’re all about the drink, you can skip it, but if you’re here for the fun and experience, give it a go.

And why are you in Vegas to begin with if you don’t want a little showbiz? That $50 bet on red (Wynn’s table minimum) is certainly better spent on a drink for you and a drink for the divorcee giving you the eyes from the Pai Gow table.

My Verdict
5.8 / 10Taste
6.5 / 10Atmosphere

Taste reflects what I drank. Atmosphere reflects the bar experience.
