My thoughts
Now listen… I’m not trying to be a dickhead, but this was truly one of the worst cocktail experiences I’ve ever had. Now I can hear you already: “Thomas, you’re going to a beach club, what do you expect?” Spare me, I’m aware, but if you have a bar and cannot coherently pour Prosecco, Aperol, and soda with the proper ratios, what are we doing? I also ordered a Mojito, which was actually decent, but I have no picture as proof. So the less time spent on this review, the better.
The Space
Ok, I’ll be positive, this is a fun beach club. Go for the party, go for the pool, go for the DJ. They had fireworks, foam, even a bloody Transformer walking around (and I mean the Bumblebee-type Transformer, not what you may run into late at night in SE Asia). Just probably pregame before you go.
Extras
Now this was truly a first for me. Around 1am, two hours before they closed, I went to order… reluctantly, another Mojito. To which the bartender told me, and I quote, “We ran out of cocktails.” I laughed at the comedy of this statement coming from what I perceived as a lack of English. So I said, “Ok, I will do a Margarita, please.” To which I was met once again with the same statement.
I nearly short-circuited. I mean, my brain couldn’t process “running out of cocktails.” Like, what does that even mean? Did they seriously run out of all their liquor two hours before close on a Saturday? Surely not.
Well, to not force the issue where communication was already difficult, I ordered a bland, low-calorie beer and left.
My Verdict
2.5 / 10Taste
7.5 / 10Atmosphere
Taste reflects what I drank. Atmosphere reflects the bar experience.
